Seit wann bist du bei der Berliner Koordinierungsstelle gegen FGM_C dabei?

Ich bin seit Anfang an dabei, seit 2020.

Was machst du im Projekt?

Ich arbeite als Multiplikatorin, d.h. ich führe sogenannte BCAs
(Behaviour Change Activities) mit meinen Community-Mitgliedern
durch. Meine Community ist die indonesische/asiatische Community.
Ich spreche mit ihnen über FGM und dessen Folgen.

Was motiviert dich im Kampf gegen FGM_C?

In meiner Kindheit war FGM in Indonesien noch sehr stark verbreitet und ich habe gesehen, wie schlimm die Folgen davon sind und dass es für keines der Mädchen einen Benefit Vorteil brachte. Aus diesem Grund möchte ich auf langer Sicht gesehen das Verhalten der Communitys hier in Berlin bezüglich FGM ändern/sensibilisieren. Aus diesem Grund war ich auch bereits in anderen Projekten mit TDF (CHANGE Projekt 2018) als Change Agent aktiv und arbeite nun auch mit dem BMFSFJ (Bundesministerium für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend) zusammen, um den Schutzbrief innerhalb der Communitys publik öffentlich zu machen und zu verbreiten

Was brauchst du, um den Kampf gegen FGM voranzubringen?

Für die Zukunft ist es wichtig, dass alle Länder weltweit eine Art Schutzbrief entwickeln.

How long have you been active at the Berlin Coordination Office against FGM_C?

I've been there since the beginning, since 2020.

What are you doing in the project?

I work as a multiplier, i.e. I conduct so-called BCAs (Behaviour Change Activities) with my community members. My community is the Indonesian/Asian community. I talk to them about FGM and its consequences.

What motivates you in the fight against FGM_C?

In my childhood FGM was still very widespread in Indonesia and I have seen how bad the consequences are and that it did not bring any benefit for any of the girls. For this reason, I would like to change/sensitize the behavior of the communities here in Berlin regarding FGM. For this reason, I have already been active in other projects with TDF (CHANGE project 2018) as a Change Agent and I am now also working with the BMFSFJ (Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth) to publicize and disseminate the protection letter within the communities.

What do you need to advance the fight against FGM?

For the future, it is important that all countries worldwide develop some kind of protection scheme.
