Tchoumbou, Colette

I am from Cameroon where FGM is practiced in around 5% of the population. Mostly in the northern area of Cameroon.

I studied Business Administration focusing on Marketing in Douala, Cameroon, as well as Food Technology in Lemgo, Germany. Finally, Germany became my country of residence in 1997.

Whilst living in Douala I worked as a child care worker in a children’s home called Saint Luc and took care of orphans and kids with special needs. For over ten years, I have been engaging in this battle against FGM.

In the framework of this commitment, I have been working on information and prevention projects in Senegal, the Gambia and Guinea. I hope to end FGM as fast as possible.
