Consortium meeting in Amsterdam: One year Let’s CHANGE

On 18th  and 19th November 2019 the partner organizations Federatie Somalische Associaties Nederland (FSAN), Equilibres & Populations (Equipop), Plan International Deutschland (Plan) und TERRE DES FEMMES (TDF) met in Amsterdam to reflect on the first year of the Let’s CHANGE Project and to plan the second year. The meeting was hosted by FSAN and chaired by TDF.

After a short welcome, each partner quickly updated the others on the current developments in the project at their organization. The participants then went on to discussing coordinational aspects and project management. Then the external evaluation of the project was addressed, discussion the outcomes of the mid-term evaluation report and strategies for the second year. Andrea Mewaldt from Europe Open Consulting (OEC) was responsible for this slot. Next on the Agenda were means of achieving Community Empowerment. Everyone reflected on the training sessions for CHANGE Agents and CHANGE Trainers, community events, empowerment and exchange meetings that took place so far. The mentoring program was evaluated and discussed as well. By now all partner organizations have completed the training of their activists and started implementing Behavioural Change Activities and trainings for key professionals.

Day 2 focused on the organization of upcoming events. The Advocacy Meeting, which will take place on 02nd February 2019 was discussed. For this the European Network End FGM, being responsible for the logistical organization of the event, joined the group via Skype. Later, the final Conference in Paris was addressed. It will take place in June of next year. Structure, programme and potential speakers were discussed. Finally, the partners talked about press and public relations. TERRE DES FEMMES reported on the mid-term press conference in October 2019, which several CHANGE Agents and Trainers attended.
