More than 1900 visitors saw touching films about burning issues

The second Film Fest "Glimpses into Women´s Worlds" from TERRE DES FEMMES was a great success. The strong response of the public meant 50 percent more spectators than last year. 34 feature and documentary films about the most important issues of women´s rights fought for by TERRE DES FEMMES were screened.

Public favorite was the Iranian film "The day I became a woman" from Marziyeh Meshkini, which was presented as a German first night.. "Cooperation with the Cinemas Arsenal and Museum in Tübingen and Waldhorn in Rottenburg was extraordinary good" states happily Film Fest coordinator Irene Jung. "And the support by the nominee for women´s issues of the City of Tübingen, Mrs. Omram, was very important" continues Mrs. Jung. For the first time, this year there was cooperation with 4 high schools from Tübingen and Rottenburg; this cooperation shall be amplified next year, as well as the cooperation with institutions and groups of activists for different issues connected with women´s rights.

The well-known German-Argentine director Jeanine Meerapfel visited the Film Fest and presented her last film "Anna´s summer". Mrs. Meerapfel was impressed by the special atmosphere of the festival, the program and the intense conversations with the public. "Next year I will come back" - as participant of a round table about "Women´s voices from different cultures in German Cinema", which is being planned for the next TERRE DES FEMMES Film Festival.
